Project Detail |
As part of an ecological transition process, the city of Fort-de-France has entrusted SAS BON AIR with the creation of Martiniques first eco-district. As the concessionaire for the operation, SAS BON AIR launched the project in 2012 and it will be completed in 2030.
CONTEXT
Located in the heart of Fort-de-France, the "Bon Air" district was created in 1965 to rehouse residents. However, over the years, all the buildings have deteriorated, making this working-class district an unsanitary site with a proven and uncorrectable seismic risk.
DESCRIPTION
"Bon Air eco-neighborhood Caribbean" is a project led by SAS Bon Air, a developer concessionaire for the city of Fort-de-France, which aims to create the first eco-neighborhood in Martinique.
The project involves the demolition of 321 homes in the Bon Air neighborhood, followed by the rehousing of its occupants, in order to create a new environmentally friendly space, including 464 better quality homes and 4,000 m² of activities and facilities.
In detail, the eco-district will include social, private and home ownership housing, as well as a home for the elderly. The buildings will be designed according to bioclimatic principles to reduce the carbon footprint of the area. Associated facilities will include playgrounds, a sports field, a large park and a shared garden.
The project is labeled "ecoquartoer" and is estimated at €53 million. It is co-financed by several stakeholders, including the City of Fort-de-France, ANRU, CTM, FRAFU and the State. |
