Project Name | Carbon-Negative and Ambient Production of Fertilizer Precursor |
Project Detail | Justin Panich leads a research group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and is a deputy director at the Joint BioEnergy Institute. In this project, Panich will develop a bioelectrocatalytic cell that converts renewable energy, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen gas into ammonia. The team will maximize microbes for ammonia production through bioengineering strategies and integrate the microbes into an electrolysis-coupled growth chamber. |
