Project Detail |
The Municipality of Yaoundé VI has translated into action its desire to act for a transition process towards sustainable development with the creation of a Municipal Water and Environment Agency (AMEE). Engaged in a partnership with the City of Loos-en-Gohelle, recognized as a "national demonstrator of the management of systemic change towards a sustainable city", it proposes, through this project, to structure and operationalize the AMEE by relying on the "Loossois framework for change management". In return, Loos-en-Gohelle will rely on Yaoundé VI to enrich the governance of its own transition projects and its strategy for adapting to global warming
The project is organized around three components:
C1: Governance: strengthening the capacities of elected officials, services,
CSOs of Yaoundé VI and Cameroonian institutions in the process of
driving systemic change
C2: Citizen mobilization and co-construction of public policies:
i) contributing to the structuring of the AMEE and the development of municipal water and waste strategies in Yaoundé VI, ii) updating the charter
of the living environment of residents in Loos-en-Gohelle
C3: Capitalization/dissemination: documenting the process, organizing/
participating in various events favorable to the dissemination of the experience in Cameroon and France. |
