Project to support the retirement of teachers and improve teaching-learning conditions - PREACE |

As a complement to a primary education support project (APEP 2) and an ongoing project to support the professionalization of primary school teachers (Molakisi Telema), this funding consolidates the AFDs intervention logic in basic education in the DRC.
The project includes two components:
* The first aims to refinance the severance pay of teachers who have passed retirement age, which will support the States budgeting efforts for the implementation of long-term national reforms. 4,500 teachers are targeted by this component with a leverage effect sought
on the "restart" of the teacher retirement mechanism for a renewal of the teaching staff.
* The second component is dedicated to a school construction program in the province of Kongo Central. A synergy will thus be sought with the activities to support the quality of educational services deployed within the framework of the Molakisi Telema project. |
