CAGEPAs water and sanitation program will implement investments in drinking water and sanitation infrastructure in urban and semi-urban areas of the State of Paraíba, in addition to financing technical support to improve the companys performance.
CAGEPA, the Water and Sewage Company of Paraíba, plays a crucial role in providing drinking water to most municipalities in the state and operating sewage systems in 22 larger municipalities. To meet its universalization goals, CAGEPA must finance an ambitious investment plan for the period 2023 to 2033, focusing on the development of water and sanitation services in its area of ??operation. With resources from AFD (a €50 million non-sovereign loan and a €0.6 million grant), CAGEPA’s water and sanitation program will implement investments in drinking water and sanitation infrastructure in urban and semi-urban areas of the state. It will also finance equipment, technical support and technical assistance to improve CAGEPA’s performance. Specific support will also be provided to the company to mainstream gender equality issues. |
