The project will finance several investments in Hamburg district heat system, such as: - investment in the network (including heat storage of 2000 MWh capacity in Energy Park Tiefstack) - fuel conversion of 267 MW coal-fired cogeneration or combined heat and power (CHP) plant to biomass in Energy Park Tiefstackand - construction of a 60 MW Billwerder Bucht heat pump. Objectives The key objectives aim at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and lower air pollution. by modernising the district heating systems and replacing fossil-fuel based central heating with a more sustainable and efficient renewable generation (heat pump, biomass boilers).
