Technical Assistance
The proposed technical assistance will support the preparation of the feasibility studies of the Ayakchi and Obizarang reservoir development and associated irrigation system watershed management measures including disaster risk management and sediment management. The feasibility studies will include conceptual technical design, environment, social safeguards, economic, climate change, procurement, and financial assessments. The TA will also support the preparation of a sector study in the field of water resources and irrigation for the ensuing program. It will include roles of the public and private sectors, social and environmental issues, and institutional development
Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy
The program will be strategically aligned with the ongoing government reforms in the water sector, aiming to improve water efficiency and productivity and support climate change adaptation. The climate adaptation investments under the program will be based on the upstream climate risk assessment and adaptation pathways approach. |
