The Framework Loan to BME (Bordeaux Metropole Energies/Société dÉconomie Mixte Bordeaux Métropole Energies (BME) and its majority-owned subsidiaries to financially support its activities related to Energy Efficiency renovations of residential buildings, renewable energies (especially photovoltaic) and district heating/cooling networks in the Bordeaux metropolitan area over a period of 4 years. This operation is the second one with BME (following Bordeaux Métropole Energies 2017-0896). Objectives This aim is to provide a loan of up to EUR 90m to the Société dÉconomie Mixte (mixed-economy company) Bordeaux Métropole Energies (BME) in order to keep supporting its Energy Efficiency (EE) investments in private buildings (following 2017-0896) as well as its activities relative to renewable energies (especially photovoltaic) and district heating/cooling networks. The EIB loan will contribute to the EE renovation of approximately 3,150 homes (370 individual housings and 2,780 apartments in condominiums) in Bordeaux metropolis over a period of 4 years. As a One-Stop Shop for EE renovations, it will keep supporting - technically and financially - building owners of the Bordeaux metropolitan area in their renovations. This will be part of its Société de Tiers-Financement (Third-Party Financing entity) role, following the French legal arrangements that allow non-banking entities to perform credit activities to individuals for EE renovations under clearly established conditions. The EIB loan will also support BMEs activities relative to renewable energies (especially photovoltaic) and district heating/cooling networks until 2028.
