Project Description
The provision by the EBRD (the "Bank") of a sovereign loan to the Republic of Tajikistan in the amount of up to EUR 4.0 million to finance improvements of critical water supply infrastructure in the city of Bokhtar (the "Project"). The loan will be co-financed by up to EUR 4.0 million investment grants from the EBRD Shareholder Special Fund (the "SSF") and/or other international donors. The loan will be on-lent to the State Unitary Enterprise "Khojagii Manziliyu Kommunali" Bokhtar Water and Wastewater Company which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of State Unitary Enterprise "Khojagii Manziliyu Kommunali".
Project Objectives
The Project builds up on the success of the previous projects in the water sector of Tajikistan aiming to (i) address the critical water infrastructure rehabilitation needs, (ii) contribute towards improving the quality and reliability of potable water supply and treatment services, and (iii) improve financial and operational standing of utility achieved through a general reform programme to support cashless payments. |
