Project Detail |
The overall objective of the Innovative and Quality Health Services in Kosovo project is to improve access to quality health services for the entire population of Kosovo. Its specific objective is to establish a Knowledge, Learning and Innovation Center for Kosovo (KLICK) to improve the quality of health services.
Achieving these goals is expected to improve the quality of health services at all levels of the public health care delivery system. This will be done by modernizing healthcare management and equipping healthcare professionals with new skills.
The general objective and specific objective of the project aim to fill priority gaps in the health system, in particular:
low quality of care in the public sector at all levels of the health care delivery system;
the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases in the population of Kosovo;
the central role that human resources in health must play to improve the quality of services and properly manage the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases;
the difficulties of initial and in-service training arrangements to train young professionals, upgrade existing staff and maintain their capacity over time;
the need to act differently to meet these needs;
the desire of the Government of Kosovo to accelerate the introduction of digitalization in all sectors, including health.
KLICK will pave the way for digital innovation for modern, quality health services through work mainly focused on three areas:
the provision of modern healthcare and e-health services in priority public health areas;
improving the clinical skills of health professionals;
continuous and long-term improvement in the quality of health care through innovations.
To achieve these results and promote collaboration with Luxembourg, an operational partnership agreement with the Luxembourg Institute of Health is currently being discussed. |
