The provision of a senior loan of up to EUR 17 million to the City of Belgrade (the "City" or the "Borrower"), for the development and construction of a pedestrian and bicycle connection between New Belgrade and Ada Ciganlija through a bridge over the Sava River (the "Project"). The Project will promote active and micro mobility and improved connectivity within the city of Belgrade. The Project will be financed under EBRD Green Cities Framework.
Project Objectives
Contribution to the increase of active mobility in urban transportation, reduction of traffic congestion and promotion of a clean, sustainable and integrated approach to mobility in the city of Belgrade.
Encouraging walking and cycling through improved facilities was identified as a priority action for the City of Belgrade within its Green City Action Plan ("GCAP"). Construction of a pedestrian-cycling bridge over the Sava river is part of the Citys strategic commitment to encourage bicycles as a clean transport mode, improve accessibility, and connect the most populated area of Belgrade (New Belgrade) with the Citys main natural recreational zone (Ada Ciganlija). |
