Twinning in magnetic resonance imaging research
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most versatile and advanced medical imaging modality for diagnosis. Bilkent University’s National Magnetic Resonance Research Center (UMRAM) in Turkey is an established MRI research centre with an excellent research track record. However, it has limited access to European research networks. The EU-funded MRITwins project unites UMRAM, as the coordinating partner, with the German Cancer Research Center, Universitätsklinikum Freiburg (Germany) and the Medical University of Wien (Austria) as advanced partners to conduct an EU Horizon Twinning Project in the field of magnetic resonance imaging. The project will explore the topic of re-engineering MRI scanners with open-source hardware and software, focusing on novel gradient and radiofrequency array technologies. |
