Project Detail |
The Banks current intervention is complementary to and in synergy with that of other technical and financial partners to restore basic infrastructure (ESSP, schools, roads, housing, etc.) in the Al Haouz region. The resources provided by the Bank through this emergency assistance are aimed at restoring hope to the victims of the earthquake and mitigating the socio-economic impact, particularly in the health and drinking water sectors. To this end, the Banks support will focus on helping those affected by the earthquake by purchasing essential goods. For those displaced by the floods, women and girls in the camps may be victims of sexual harassment, gender-based violence and forced and/or early marriages. Assistance to flood victims will hasten their return home and avoid the risks of remaining in IDP camps. The assistance is based around a single component: "Emergency support for the governments response in the earthquake-stricken regions".
Project Objectives
The aim of this emergency aid operation is to contribute to the Governments emergency response in the regions hit by the earthquake, by providing essential supplies (drinking water, medicines, shelter, blankets and food). |
