A contemporary approach to urban design in Chicago
The Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Chicago Downtown West Loop is a dual-brand hotel and residential space in the trendy West Loop neighborhood. The hotel and residential suites share amenities and back-of-house within a single, 24-story tower.
Located in a renewed industrial district, the tower has architecture that thoughtfully responds to the design and scale of the surrounding low-rise masonry loft structures. The rhythm of the punched opening facades is complemented by the modern curtainwall which creates a dynamic framework for the two brands.
As a dual-brand property, establishing a distinct yet mutually cohesive interior scheme was a priority. Taking cues from the surrounding neighborhood, the interiors impart an inviting, residential feel that communicates a sense of familiarity and comfort to guests. Open floor plans, modern furnishings, and subtle industrial details evoke the loft living typical of the neighborhood and complement the more traditional layouts and timeless aesthetic at the extended stay Homewood Suites.
The fresh color palette and eclectic furnishings embrace Hampton’s affinity for texture and pattern, while intimate seating groups and millwork transoms evoke an urban elegance within the Homewood Suites. |
