Project Detail |
In the border community of Nerkin Karmiraghbyur, Tavush Region, more than 235 families (comprising 900 people) reside. The village currently relies on a pumping station for its water supply, drawing water from the central spring of the community. This pumping station operates for 8 hours a day, consuming significant electricity and incurring associated costs. Additionally, the village lacks proper street lighting, posing a serious security concern for this border community.
Following a professional study, it has been determined that the installation of an 8 kW PV (photovoltaic) solar power plant can lead to a 90% reduction in electricity consumption for the village. This generated solar energy will serve a dual purpose: powering the water pumping station and providing an alternative energy source for street lighting. This initiative aims to ensure that the main streets of the community are well-lit at night, enhancing the safety and security of the residents.
Thanks to the project funded by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Australian branch, the community will continue to enjoy a consistent supply of drinking water and improved street lighting. Furthermore, this project is expected to result in significant cost savings for the communitys budget. |
