| Project Name | Tâmega: one of the largest hydroelectric projects developed in Europe in the last 25 years |
| Project Detail | Iberdrola will add two wind farms to the Tâmega hydroelectric complex - one of the largest energy storage facilities in Europe, located in northern Portugal - making it one of the largest energy initiatives in the countrys history. The giga-battery, with an investment of more than €1.5 billion, will involve the construction of three dams and three power plants (Gouvães, Daivões and Alto Tâmega) with a combined capacity of 1,158 MW. And two wind farms with a combined capacity of 300 MW. |
