The project will be implemented in Mille and Chifra Woredas (districts) of Zone-1 in Afar region, and Worebabo Woreda (South Wollo zone) and Bati Woreda (Oromo nationalities special zone) in Amhara region. These areas are adjacent districts where the three neighboring communities (i.e. the Afar, Amhara, and Oromo) share almost similar behaviors and practices towards VAWGs. As the areas have recently been under violent conflict that caused various tragedies of sexual, physical and psychosocial attacks on women and girls by armed groups, therefore, ELiDA and its copartner, Christian Aid, could implement, test, adopt or adapt parallel interventions that will be able to work for both the normal and conflict settings.  |
