This initiative is a pilot project that aims to drive compliance with national food safety standards and regulations through better targeting of official resources to facilitate improved public health outcomes and trade opportunities. It will pilot, test, assess, and learn how the voluntary Third-Party Assurance (vTPA) approach set down in the draft Codex guidelines works in practice when implemented by government authorities in Belize and Honduras.
General objective:
Implement the pilot project for the use of the Third Party Assurance Program (TPA) in Central America (Belize and Honduras) to improve food safety, public health, food, and trade.
Specific objectives:
To assess the effectiveness of the vTPA approach in selected countries |
