The Rural Development Support Program (DEVRUR II) aims to open up future prospects for actors in rural areas and young people.
It aims (i) to strengthen and improve the professional qualification of actors in agricultural and rural development and the professional integration of young people, (ii) to increase local production and processing capacities and access to sources reliable sources of (renewable) energy, and (iii) the development of the supply of financial and non-financial services that supports rural entrepreneurship around multifunctional agropoles and in Bangui.
The program is part of complementary actions financed by the Bêkou Fund of the European Union to the tune of €17,950,000, over a period of 4 years (2020 - 2024), for the benefit of the Ministry of Agriculture. and the Ministry of Livestock. It will provide professional training services in this area.
DEVRUR II will work with “agropoles”. The agropole is a set of actors circumscribed in a given geographical area, who maintain functional relations in their activities of production, processing, support services and marketing of agricultural, animal or forest products in order to strengthen them. and improve them.
DEVRUR II targets five agropoles: Bangui, the Central African capital, the prefecture of Nana-Mambéré with the city of Bouar, Ouham-Péndé in Bozoum, Bossangoa, the capital of Ouham and the prefecture of Kémo with the city ??of Sibut. While waiting for a sixth agropole which will be added according to an in-depth analysis of the terrain in Boali, Pissa or Paoua.
