The Orlando Project is a 129 MW natural gas-fired combined-cycle cogeneration facility located in Orlando, Florida. The Project is based on an upgraded ABB 11N combustion turbine and achieved commercial operation in September 1993. The Project is owned by Orlando CoGen Limited, L.P., in which Atlantic Power indirectly owns a 50% interest. Northern Star Generation indirectly owns the remaining 50% partnership interest. Orlando sells its generating capacity and electric output to Duke Energy Florida, LLC pursuant to a long-term power purchase agreement that expires in December 2023. The Project is situated adjacent to an air separation facility owned by Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., which serves as the Projects steam host. Orlando also cogenerates and sells chilled water using low pressure steam. The Project has entered into a natural gas supply agreement with BP, and a natural gas transportation agreement with Florida Gas Transmission.. Northern Star provides operations and maintenance services under a long-term contract with the Orlando Project. In 2014 the Orlando Project entered into a Long-Term Service and Parts Agreement with Alstom Power, Inc. |
