WSDOT will make roadway improvement across three sections of a 12-mile stretch of State Route 20 in Island County. Work includes grinding off the old pavement, laying new asphalt and installing new pavement markings. The pavement in these areas currently is rutting, cracking and showing normal wear. This project will extend the life of the existing pavement and create a smoother ride for people traveling in the area.
The project also will update some intersections to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines, including the installation of concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks and upgrading ADA ramps. These upgrades will improve intersection crossings for all users.
