The project aims to complement the actions that are being promoted within the framework of the program called Support for the Program for the Adaptation of Road Infrastructure to the Needs of Forest Transport URU-20/18 developing two lines of work: 1) survey of the situation regulations for wooden buildings, and the supply chain of the wood construction industry; 2) drafting of technical documents that allow the development of massive wood construction.
General objective:
Contribute to the promotion of the incorporation of nationally produced wood in the construction of houses through a greater standardization of the design process of wooden constructions.
Specific objectives:
Generate a Technical Guide that contains a set of reference rules that allows standardization to a greater extent and facilitates the design process of wooden constructions
Survey the market, installed capacities, the status of current regulations and the percentage of buildings built in wood, to establish a starting point for the development of a wood construction industry
Disseminate through conferences and workshops construction technology with national wood applied to light-frame housing projects, including current regulations, installed capacities and materials (wood products, connectors, etc.) available in the national market |
