With this project, it is expected to improve the productivity of cocoa in Esmeraldas and bananas in El Oro. With the implementation of these two components, it will be possible to strengthen the work being carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Ecuador (MAG), the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIAP) and the Phytosanitary and Zoosanitary Regulation and Control Agency (AGROCALIDAD), as well as the participation of the academy in favor of genetic improvement and the use of new complementary technologies for the cultivation of cocoa in the province of Esmeraldas, where the use of Good Agricultural Practices (BPA) and other biological control agents (ACB) are implemented in El Oro.
General objective:
Contribute to the improvement of cocoa production systems in the province of Esmeraldas and bananas in El Oro.
Specific objectives:
Support the implementation process of GAP and biological control agents in banana production in the province of El Oro and Esmeraldas.
Promote the use of new clonal varieties with high yield potential and organoleptic quality developed by INIAP and complementary technologies for the cultivation of cocoa in the province of Esmeraldas. |
