In line with the SDGs and Bangkok’s goals of prioritizing the BCG model, APEC economies have been committed to harness green and sustainable technologies for a sustainable future. The stability and safety of Li-batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems play important roles toward the goal. Higher-safety and longer-life battery materials can not only prevent thermal runaway and explosions of Li-batteries, but they can also extend battery life and reduce the waste caused by frequent turnover.
Therefore, a Lithium Battery Industry Seminar will be held to discuss the safety guidelines and testing standards of lithium batteries for all economies. Stakeholders and experts including relevant R&D units, manufacturers and policymakers in the region will be invited to join. A final report will be provided as a reference for technical testing standards establishment as well as circular battery technologies development toward the BCG Economy. |
