Creating international culture through shared living space
Turning a student dormitory into a friendly learning space and giving foreign students a feeling of home
The Mandarin Training Center of National Taiwan Normal [YK1] University (NTNU) is the most famous Chinese language teaching center in Taiwan. NTNU spent NTD 600 million to build a new international student dormitory to provide foreign students with high-quality living spaces. The goal? To help foreign students solve housing problems and quickly adapt to the culture and living in Taiwan.
Students from different cultures get to learn and exchange with each other in this space. We combined the design of this international student dormitory with Chinese learning and an arts space so that it can become the starting point for foreign students to get in touch with Chinese culture. For this project, we helped NTNU with the preliminary planning and design of international student dormitory, solicitation of high-quality contractor, and implementation of construction management.
After construction is completed, the student dormitory will help reduce rent disputes of foreign students caused by language communication problems and create a friendly common exchange space for all students so that international students can have the feeling of home in Taiwan. |
