Project Detail |
In the parliamentary petition EK 45/2022 vp issued on November 1, 2022, the Parliament required that the Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs investigate the improvement of firework safety and the reduction of firework hazards and take the necessary measures as a result of the findings. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, and Science has started in the beginning of 2023 to make the report required in the parliaments petition.
Based on the report received from Tukes, the matter will be discussed with the relevant authorities in late spring 2023 in order to prepare proposals for measures to improve the safety of fireworks and reduce the harm. The estimated completion of the report is in the fall of 2023.
The European Commission has tentatively announced that the report on the functionality of Directive 2013/29/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on placing pyrotechnic products on the market would be ready in the second quarter of 2024. Therefore, the report is not yet able to assess the possible effects of the development of EU legislation.
