Project number CA-3-P011730001 Maximum contribution $5,000,000 Partner profile United States Departmentof Energy Start - end 2022-07-29 - 2023-12-31 Status Operational This project seeks to reduce the threat to the population of Ukraine and neighbouring populations from stolen or illicitly trafficked nuclear or radiological materials by securing critical borders currently under Ukrainian control, and addressing vulnerabilities near sensitive nuclear facilities, and within newly recovered territory. Project activities include: (1) providing radiation detection, communication, patrol, and surveillance equipment to Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service and the National Police of Ukraine; and (2) providing related operational equipment and maintenance training on the equipment. |
