Project Detail |
- Latawama 2022 top-up project at the BDI: aims to contribute to improving the integrated management of Lake Tanganyikas water resources in a context of climate change. The additional support proposal would make it possible to strengthen the quality management of the lakes water by equipping (solar photovoltaic and battery storage) the 4 analysis laboratories in the main towns around the lake.
- PTCS wood-energy component project at SEN and BKF 2022: aims to strengthen the existing component in the PTCS and reduce pressure on forest ecosystems through: (i) reducing the demand for wood-energy by upgrading availability and use of more efficient equipment (use of efficient reactors for the production of charcoal and improved stoves for cooking) and the use of alternative fuels (such as biogas and briquettes) and (ii) l increasing the supply of wood-energy produced in a sustainable manner through the promotion of the management and development of forest resources by local communities.
- PTCS renewable energy project at SEN and BKF 2023: This component proposes to support access to renewable energies (in particular solar energy) for productive uses in order to support local economic development by proposing energy solutions adapted to the needs local actors. The productive use of energy stimulates economic development, job creation and improved household incomes.
