The project relates to the deployment and operation of mobile towers for the provision of low-cost basic telecommunication services (voice and basic data service) in underserved rural areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo (850 towers) and Cameroon (242 towers) where the promoters partner mobile operator is unwilling to rollout its fully-fledged network infrastructure due to lower financial profitability.
Objectives
The main objective of the project is to connect people to the digital economy in rural areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon through the rollout of a 2.75G network, thus supporting the countries transition to a digital economy. The project deployment will result in significant positive social impacts through increased mobile coverage in underserved areas.
