Project Detail |
The project aims to help fishers in the Central Islands Province of the Solomon Islands to recover from, and adapt to, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even before the impacts of COVID-19 were felt in the Solomon Islands, fishing communities in the Small Ngella region of Central Island Province (CIP) were vulnerable due to lack of access to markets, limited financial literacy and small business acumen, and expensive logistics and transportation costs.
World Vision Australia, together with the Anglican Church of Melanesia and World Vision Solomon Islands are implementing CLIP with the aim to improve economic outcomes and increase resilience to shocks of 563 fishers in the Small Ngella region of the Central Islands Province. CLIP will help them to recover from, and adapt to, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and will contribute to build resilient and inclusive livelihoods for their households, reaching 3,700 people in ten communities. |
