High Bridge Wind, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Northland Power Inc., has submitted an Application for Article 10 of the Public Service Law to construct a 100 MW wind facility in the town of Guilford, located in Chenango County, New York. The projects former owner, Calpine, has transferred this process to Northland mid-process. All New York State projects must follow the Article 10 Siting Process prior to construction and operation. High Bridge Wind submitted its application on August 12, 2019. The process required upfront funds of $100,800, to be given to municipalities and local parties to reduce expenses incurred during the process; 50% of these funds went to municipalities. These funds were awarded on October 29, 2019. An application supplement was submitted on January 17, 2020. Our application was deemed complete on March 16, 2020. Utility-scale wind project under advanced development. Will connect to existing New York State Electric and Gas Corporation transmission line, delivering power to the New York State grid. Represents a viable, long-term revenue stream for families in the form of land-lease and good neighbour-agreement payments during the development and operation phases. Creates additional jobs and increased demand for local goods and services. Additional benefits include public road enhancements, increased revenue for the town, schools, hospitals, libraries and emergency services. |
