| Project Detail | Project No. SCCP 01 2022S Project Title Measures used to Secure Cargo Containers from Tampering Project Status Project in Implementation Fund Account Self-Funded Project Year 2022 Sponsoring Forum Sub-Committee on Customs Procedures (SCCP) Topics Customs Committee Committee on Trade and Investment (CTI) Other Fora Involved The Australian Border Force (ABF) is interested in seeking advice from member economies on the measures they are using to control contraband from being imported in cargo containers. Our interest is in specific measures that Customs Agencies have used such as Smart Security Devices, specific checks or control processes to limit access to containers prior to customs clearance, or data obtained from commercial holdings or from reciprocal arrangements with other Customs Agencies that are used to detect and identify at risk containers. Where data is available the ABF is equally interested in the success of specific measures pre and post implementation. The ABF will seek to collect this information via a survey and will report back aggregate findings to the SCCP in August 2022. |
