Development and construction of Line 3, one of the proposed five Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) transport corridors envisioned under a harmonised, citywide, sustainable transport plan for Nairobi. Objectives Clean BRT Line 3 will provide a substantial improvement to the current public transport system of the congested capital of Kenya by offering a green solution to the challenges of an efficient bus network. It will be over 12km long, crossing the city centre of Nairobi from East to West, connecting hospitals, Dandora train station, key market areas and it will interface with many of the other BRT lines. As such, Clean BRT Line 3 is also the heart of the future BRT network. The project will involve the detailed design and construction of the bus corridor, as well as the construction of a bus depot, procurement and acquisition of zero emission electric buses, construction of bus stops and associated monitoring, ticketing and management facilities. |
