Overall goal
The aim of the project is to strengthen the Georgian Red Crosss range of home nursing services for elderly people in need of care and assistance in Tbilisi and Rustavi (SDG 3, 5; GAP II Objective 10).
Expected results
Result 1: Strengthening the capacities of employees and volunteers of the Georgian Red Cross to provide professional home nursing services.
Result 2: Professional home nursing services provided by the Georgian Cross in Tbilisi and Rustavi.
Result 3: Developed concept for a training center for employees, volunteers and caring relatives and piloting the offers for caring relatives.
Result 4: Sustainably financed home nursing offer initiated.
Target group / beneficiaries
Direct target group: 604 people (436 women, 168 men):
- 200 home nursing clients in Tbilisi and Rustavi (120 women, 80 men);
- 300 caregivers (240 women, 60 men);
- 54 employees (home nursing staff) and volunteers of the Georgian Red Cross (46 women 8 men);
- 50 representatives from other organizations (25 women, 25 men).
Indirect target group: approx. 400,000 people (30% of the residents of Tbilisi and Rustavi).
Activities
Further training offers on home nursing in Tbilisi; Recruitment of new employees for home nursing in Rustavi; Home nursing training for new employees / volunteers in Rustavi; regional exchange with the Armenian Red Cross;
Public relations work for the Georgian Red Cross as a new provider of home nursing; regular exchange and cooperation with the communities in Tbilisi and Rustavi; Development of the necessary administrative structures in Rustavi; Home nursing care in Rustavi and Tbilisi;
Concept development for the establishment of a training center for home nursing with the Georgian Red Cross as sponsor; Exchange and cooperation with ministries, local authorities and other training providers; Creation of a training concept for caring relatives; Conducting training with caregivers;
Elaboration of a business plan for sustainable financing of home nursing; Participation in existing committees and political dialogue for a sustainable home nursing offer and financing model; Networking with other communities; Establishment of a network of home care providers. |
