Project Detail | This is the first allocation under the existing Georgia Transport Connectivity II Framework Loan (FL) approved by the Bank on 30 November 2018 and signed on 19 February 2019. It consists of the upgrade of the Rustavi-Red Bridge road (approximately 32 km) which is the main road connecting Georgia to Azerbaijan. Rustavi-Red Bridge is part of the E-60 highway and the extended Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) core network in Georgia. Objectives The proposed loan will support the Georgian Government in completing the implementation of its national priority 2017-2020 construction and upgrading programme for the road network. The objective is to promote sustainable road infrastructure development providing efficient transportation, enhancing cross border and regional connectivity, the populations local mobility and ensuring short- and long-term benefits for all road users.
