Reconstruction and recovery from Cyclone Idai will be promoted in other affected areas, which contributes to build disaster resilient city. Project Purpose Reconstruction and recovery from Cyclone Idai will be promoted, which contributes to build disaster resilient city through implementation of he Beira Municipality Recovery and Resilience Plan that utilizes the outputs of the Project. Output The outputs of the Project would be a part of Beira Municipal Recovery and resilience Plan (BMRRP), which consists of the following: (1) Disaster risk assessment and hazard maps; and (2) Action plans in the target areas of BMRRP with reference to the hazard maps. Project Activities Activities for Output (1) consists of the following; 1-1 collect existing available maps; 1-2 conduct trace survey through site visits and interviews in the Cyclone idai-affected area; 1-3 assess hazard of natural disaster such as cyclone, storm surge, flood; and 1-4 support the local government to elaborate hazard maps. Activities for Output (2) consistes of the followings; 2-1 review BMRRP, and concerned acts and polocies; 2-2 support the local government to formulate Action Plans in following target areas; 1) land use plan, 2) infrastructure recovery and reconstruction plan 3) public facility recovery and reconstruction plan 4) evaluation plan 5) livelihood restoration plan, etc., 2-3 reconstruct the target public facilities in resilient way as pilot projects; 2-4 conduct On-the job-training (OJT) through the above-mentioned activities to enhance capacity of local government |
