Virtualisation for effective live media production
The market of live content is on the rise globally, while consumers are demanding more and more services and products. The Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry is seeking ways to reduce the cost of production and increase efficiency. The EU-funded VIRTUOSA project proposes virtualisation to make media production more effective, simply scalable and less costly. VIRTUOSA will transform live media production with a new generation of media networks based on IP technology, software-defined networking (SDN) technology, high performance computing, and cloud computing. The solution will reduce production costs by up to 40 % while more live content will be produced simultaneously. The project will prove and evaluate the VIRTUOSA product to prepare it for launch and commercialisation. |
