New portable photoacoustic sensor technology
Spectroscopic techniques provide information about the test substance - from its atomic or chemical composition to its surface structure. Currently used optical sensing capabilities (especially spectroscopy or imaging) are limited by photon diffusion in scattering media. The EU-funded RSENSE project will support the use of a novel, revolutionary portable optoacoustic (PROPT) technology for sensing applications in the healthcare, environmental and automotive sectors. PROPT can collect information like no other technology can, thanks to extraordinary improvements in the laser diode and optoacoustic detection technology. Its sensitivity is unique, and it reduces the cost of the sensor. The project will be a landmark with a diverse application portfolio. |
