Several projects funded through Connecting Washington and partner funds will address the improvement needs on Interstate 90 at the Barker Road interchange, the Harvard Road interchange and local network connections. Included in the projects are the widening of Harvard Road bridge over I-90 to three lanes, improving the westbound on-ramps to I-90 from Harvard Road, converting the traffic signals at both the westbound and eastbound ramps to Interstate 90 at Barker Road to roundabouts and constructing a new Henry Road connection over I-90 from Mission Avenue on the north, to Country Vista Drive to the south.

Needs & benefits
Improvements at Harvard Road bridge and ramps will resolve Liberty Lake congestion concerns. Henry Road new connection will address capacity issues in Liberty Lake and provide additional network alternatives and resiliency. Barker Road roundabouts will increase the level of service at both the east and westbound ramp terminals allow more traffic to move through the intersections.
Timeline
Harvard Road bridge widening and Harvard ramps - construction to begin late spring/early summer of 2020 and last six to eight months.
Barker Road roundabouts - Construction to begin in early summer 2020 and last until early fall.
Henry Road overcrossing - Construction to being in early summer 2021 and last through summer 2022. |
