Gender Equity and Mainstreaming Effective gender mainstreaming
Description The use of information and communication technologies in agriculture (alternatively referred to as eAgriculture) to improve access to information on (i) market data and analysis, (ii) area specific weather alerts, and (iii) improved technologies and techniques have increased productivity, efficiency and profitability of stakeholders along value chains. A properly set up and financially sustainable eAgriculture system through public-private partnership business model is essential for upscaling and sustaining the services. The proposed knowledge and support technical assistance (TA) is expected to enhance greater use of these high-level technologies in Pakistan, and Tajikistan, and Vietnam.

Consulting Services The services required under this TA are innovative and involve high-level technology, and there are market uncertainties about service availability and reliable cost estimates for such services. Therefore, ADB will use an early market engagement approach to select consultants, which means that it will invite potential firms to a conference call to present their perspectives, methodologies, and associated costs for carrying out the requisite tasks. ADB will engage the consultants following the ADB Procurement Policy (2017, as amended from time to time) and its associated project administration instructions and/or staff instructions.
Procurement Limited procurement of IT equipment will be required. ADB Procurement Policy (2017, as amended from time to time) will be applied in purchased of the equipment.
