| Project Detail | The refurbishment and re-manufacturing of large industrial equipment in factories could help facilitate a circular economy. The EU-funded RECLAIM project will develop advanced technological solutions with built-in capabilities for in-situ repair, self-assessment and optimal re-use strategies. The project will deliver a decision support framework that guides the optimal refurbishment and re-manufacturing of electromechanical machines and robotics systems. The framework will use IoT sensors as well as prediction and process optimisation techniques to extend machine lifetime and increase productivity. RECLAIM’s solution will be tested in five real industrial environments to evaluate the lifecycle of the industrial equipment. The aim is to increase efficiency and move towards full re-use of equipment in manufacturing, which is the backbone of the European economy. |
