A more flexible flow of power in Europe
There is a need to renew Europe’s electricity networks, meet growing demand and enable a trans-European electricity market and integrate more sustainable power generation resources. The EU-funded FLEXIGRID project will leverage digital, smart grid technologies, IoT and blockchain to provide a transparent data management platform. The aim is to broadcast real-time information on the conditions of the network to optimise the observability of the grid and market functioning. The project will develop new technologies and innovative flexible markets enabled by advanced cross-platforms for local energy exchanges. It will also provide flexibility to distribution system operators to ensure secure, stable and affordable operations of electrical distribution grids. |
