Road Infrastructure Program and promotion of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)
Project Status: Approved
To contribute to the countrys competitiveness through the environmentally sustainable improvement of the High-capacity Road Network (RVAC) in the GMA and to support the development of road infrastructure projects through public-private partnerships (PPPs) as an additional mechanism for their financing and management. The specific objectives are to: (i) lower vehicle operating costs for the flow of freight transportation on the RVAC in the GMA; (ii) shorten travel times for vehicles on the RVAC in the GMA; (iii) minimize emissions generated by transportation in the GMA; and (iv) improve the technical and institutional capacity of the Government of Costa Rica to develop road projects via PPP mechanisms
