Project Description
San Carlos Bio Power, a collaboration
between ThomasLloyd CTI Asia Holdings
Pte and Bronzeoak Philippines (currently
known as AC Devco), is the first Biomass
Power Plant in the Philippines. It has an
output of 19.99 MW and located at the
San Carlos Ecozone in Barangay Palampas
and Punao, San Carlos City, Negros
Occidental, Philippines.
The power plant will primarily use cane
trash as well as wood and grass as main
fuel. It will be utilizing local feedstock of
about 170,000 tonnes per year.
The plant will be connected to the existing
69 kV substation which is 1.5 km away to
provide electricity to the urban centre and
rural areas in the island of Negros.
Pöyry’s Scope of Services
Pöyry Energy Inc. provided Owner’s
Engineer services for the San Carlos
Biomass project which includes the
following:
· Review services for the engineering
design
· Site supervision
· Project management services |
