The objective of the Improving Employability and Labor Income of Youth Project for Bolivia is to improve employability and labor income of poor youth by supporting the expansion of the skills development programs in selected cities. There are two components to the project, the first component being improving and expanding the skills development programs. This component includes three sub-components: improving and expanding the Mi Primer Empleo Digno Program (MPED) in selected cities; implementing the pilot Micro Entrepreneurs Skills Training and Technical Assistance Program (MESTTA) in selected cities; and implementing the pilot remedial secondary education program in selected cities. Finally, the second component is the strengthening the implementation arrangements to administer, monitor and evaluate skills development programs. This component includes two sub-components: strengthening the implementation arrangements and the institutional capacity of the MTEPS to administer and coordinate the skills development programs; and strengthening the institutional capacity of Economic and Social Policy Analysis Unit (UDAPE) to improve the evaluation of the skills development programs. |
