Project Detail |
This project makes a tangible difference in three regions in northern Zimbabwe by expanding access to clean water and sanitation facilities. Within a year, 39 new wells will have been drilled and 20 existing wells or their pipe systems will have been rehabilitated. Latrines and washing facilities will also be constructed. These hardware upgrades will be complemented by hygiene education for the population to counter the spread of diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera. In addition, the long trips women and girls need to make to draw water will be shortened.
