Project Detail |
Kassala is one of the least developed regions of Sudan. Low levels of rainfall and the extreme scarcity of groundwater sources make small-scale farming difficult. Yields are often insufficient to cover the nutritional needs of the population. For this reason, small farmers are being trained in improved practices and techniques for land preparation, cultivation, management, and storage. They also receive access to microfinance institutions, harvest insurance, and other consultancy services, so they are better protected right from the start.
