Project Detail |
The internally displaced people in Camp Zamzam in North Darfur, Sudan, have hardly any income opportunities. There is no access to land and water, and consequently there is a lack of healthy food. Welthungerhilfe has therefore launched a hydroponics project. With this cultivation method the plants get their nutrients from a nutrient solution instead of from the soil. 150 particularly vulnerable households in Zamzam grow vegetables and cattle feed in this way. The families now have an income from the resale.
