Project Detail |
When the dry season starts, the water is no longer sufficient for the wandering cattle farmers in the Borana region in the south of Ethiopia. In this consortium project (together with the Swiss organisation HELVETAS), Welthungerhilfe is taking over the WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) share. In particular, existing water points and wells will be rehabilitated, and additional WASH measures will increase the populations resilience. This helps to minimise drought-related conflicts and livestock farmers do not have to sell their animals. Feed and water are sufficient.
