The Democratic Republic of the Congo is stalked by violence. Young people who lack jobs or prospects are recruited all the more easily by violent rebels. Welthungerhilfe wants to provide alternatives. Smallholders learn how to increase their yields and how to process and market their products. More than 5,500 people are also working to repair an impassable road and a damaged bridge, earning them an income while making an important transport route usable again.
